One of Ghana’s outstanding musicians, Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah popularly known as TiC , has refuted the notion that Nigeria is not receptive to Ghanaian music and its artists.

Drawing on his own experiences in Nigeria and other African markets, he asserted that the narrative would have been different if Ghanaian artists were supportive of each other.

In a wide-ranging conversation on the Ghanaian musician industry on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review Show, Tic further remarked that, unlike other artists, some Ghanaian artists were hardly intentional about promoting their music beyond the borders of Ghana.

He attributed the seeming difficulty with Ghanaian artists in other markets to the fact that penetrating a different territory is not a one-man show and requires consistent efforts.

‘‘Ghanaians hardly travel to promote their music. How many times do some of our musicians travel to other countries just to have a feel and catch the trending vibes around,’’ he quizzed?

He advised Ghanaians artists to invest some of their resources towards exposing their music to other part of the continent.

Tic further urged players in the Ghanaian music industry to find a way to appreciate and fit past A-list artists with the new ones, as that is the only way to build a formidable front in other markets.
