The president of the Bono Regional house of Chiefs and also chief of Dormaa, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyeman Badu II, has called on the President to halt the building of the National Cathedral.

He disclosed in an interview on December 20, 2022.

The Dormaa hene who acknowledged the promise of the President to God, in building a Cathedral for the people to worship and to thank God for protecting the country, also said the current economy of the country does not favor the idea of building a cathedral.

According to him, the president using the nation’s resources to build the cathedral is uncalled for.

“He (Akufo-Addo) brought the cathedral, his name can’t be taken away from it, but we beg him, the economic situation is such that he should not use our resources to complete it,” the Dormaa hene said.

He therefore advised the President to focus on the economic crisis and work on fixing it, so that in a situation where he is no more in power, his predecessors would be able to finish what he has started in his name.
