A Former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources,Inusah Fuseini has called on parliament to institute a committee of eminent persons to help build consensus and to reduce the tension in the house.

The former Tamale Central Member of Parliament expressed worry over the event, remarking that same has dented the respect, sanity and sanctity of parliament.

‘‘I think members of parliament must find a better way of building consensus and expressing dissent in the house, rather than fisticuffs,’’ he stated.

He also wondered why the Speaker absented himself, knowing the hung nature of parliament how same can impact voting.

‘‘Until I get to know the reasons for his absence I cannot comment, but my expectation is that the Speaker of Parliament should have been in the Chamber,’’ he noted.

He further urged the leadership of the house to build more consensus and to purge the house of events that cast a slur on Ghana’s parliamentary democracy.
