Momo Agents To Strike From Thursday.

Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) is threatening an industrial action, from Thursday December 23, 2021, over electronic transaction levy.

The Association is vowing not to return to work until their demands on the e-levies are headed to.

According to the leadership of the group, all agents and their outlets will be closed, until further notice is served its members.

Kwesi Addo, President of Mobile Money Agent Association of Ghana, expressed misgivings about the impact of the 1.75% E-levy on their business and Livelihood.

‘’If government will not listen to us,we will have no other option than to lay down our tools and withdraw our services. We have invested hugely into this venture and this levies will take a heavy toll on our investments,’’ he stated in an interview on Peace FM.

According to him, the government’s failure to properly engage the association, on its intention to introduce the E-Levies is in bad taste.
