The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the opposition, National Democratic Congress, has asked government to reflect on the economic hardship and challenges that the citizenry is faced with.
‘‘We however request that you set aside some time to soberly reflect and consider the many economic issues that plague, afflicts and agonize the good people of this country, presently.
‘‘He also took a swipe at the imposition of the E-levies, remarking that same will worsen the plight of Ghanaians,’’ he stated.
Kwame Zu called on the government to scrap the draconian E-levies.
‘‘Yet again, we are aware that you pan to impose on the suffering masses, another set of draconian taxes in the next set of weeks,’’ he added.
These observations were contained in the solidarity Messages of the opposition, National Democratic Congress at the New Patriotic Party’s National Delegates Conferences in the Ashanti regional Capital, Kumasi.
Over the weekend, over 9000 delegated across the length and breadth of the country converged at Heroes’ Park in Kumasi for the Party’s National Annual Delegates Conference. The event, which was climaxed on Sunday December 19, 2021, was attended by H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia and other senior government functionaries.
