President Nana Addo Danquah has described as outrageous claims that the COVID-19 vaccines can cause a person to vote against a party they support.
In his 27th national address on efforts aimed at containing the virus, the President noted that such misconceptions are only borne out of mischief.
‘‘Let me state as clearly as possible that the vaccines are safe. They will not harm you. They will protect and your family, contrary to the mischief, being peddled by some,’’ he clarified.
He reiterated the need for all Ghanaians to make themselves available for the vaccination exercise.
According to him, the vaccines is the country’s surest bet for containing the pandemic.
‘‘We have declared the Month of December as Vaccination Month and we are rolling out an aggressive campaign on vaccination so that as many Ghanaians as possible have the opportunity to be vaccinated. It is a race against time, and we are determined to accomplish it’’, he stated.
He also underscored the need for Ghanaians to comply with the other safety protocols, such as hand washing, wearing of nose mask, avoiding crowded location, regular use of alcohol-based sanitizers and others.
According to the President, Ghana has significant quantities of vaccines deployed in every corner of the country.
Vaccine hesitance is fast becoming the order of the day, as some people have endeavored not to make themselves available for the vaccination exercises.
