Owner of Ghana Celebries.com, Chris-Vincent has stated that most of the people we call bloggers are not bloggers in the right sense of the word.
‘’Blogging is an opinionated piece. It is usually comprehensive and lengthy. The one-line captions by some of these Instagram bloggers does not pass for blogger’’, he clarified.
He noted that he started blogging in 2008 while in the UK and mentioned the work of Ato Kwabena Dadzie of Multimedia, who was famed for his highly opinionated pieces on political issues.
He also mentioned Piers Morgan, who shares lengthy opinionated pieces about the royal family of UK, as what blogging is about.
According to him, the difference between blogging and news content is that whereas the former is an opinionated work, the latter reports facts or stories without imposing an opinion.
‘’Kwesi, most of these guys are not bloggers. In Ghana, we have many Vloggers. What most of these guys do is to copy and paste stories. That does not make them bloggers. To be a blogger, you must know the art of writing,’’ he stated.
On perception that bloggers are intrusive, he mentioned that its is a bogger’s job to critique or share an opinion on what others have put out about themselves or their business.
He reasoned that in a free world, people, including bloggers are also free to express their views on people’s personal issues, debunking the view that critiquing what people do constitutes cyberbullying.
