Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency in the Volta region, Okudzeto Ablakwa, has taken a swipe at government for their reluctance to provide details on the cost of the President’s travels.
He questioned why the government is unwilling to provide details on cost of the President’s travel. To him, such approach undermines transparency and accountability in governance.
He made these observations while speaking to Kwasi Aboagye on Neat FM, today.
‘’Even as a Ghanaian, I know the cost of the Presidential travels in America. The same is available for the U.K .They file it every year for the U.K taxpayer. I have been pursuing this matter since last year November but to no avail’’, he lamented.
‘‘When you raise questions about our quest to know details on the cost of the president’s travels, you raise suspicions. It means you are not proud of your approach, and it seems they don’t want to respond,’’ he insisted.
The National Security is expected to attend upon parliament house today to provide details on the cost of the President’s travels.
