Acting IGP supports #FixTheCountry demo taking place tomorrow

The # FixTheCountry demonstrations will take place tomorrow August 4 and the Acting Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, has declared his support to the organizers of the demo and assured them of providing them with maximum security.
This was spelt out in a presser released by Economic Fighters League after a meeting with newly appointed IGP and other members of the police top hierarchy in Accra yesterday.
The meeting, which was called by IGP, was, to “assure the protesters of maximum protection from the start to the end of the August 4 #FixTheCountry protest”.
The organizers then notified the IGP on the routes the protesters have planned to take and plans made to ensure the adherence to Covid-19 protocols by training marshals who would ensure the conformity of the protocols. They also asked the Inspector General of Police if there would retaliations from certain groups and the use of water canons come Wednesday to which he replied in the negative.
They ended the meeting by assuring the IGP and all Ghanaians that the protest will be a peaceful one and that anyone who comes there with the a different intention to cause havoc will be handed over to the law enforcers for further prosecution.
The protest will begin at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange through the Farisco Traffic Light towards the TUC-Kinbu Senior High School road.
