Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has shared his harrowing experience after losing all his belongings to the recent devastating floods in Accra.

The floods, which claimed several lives and submerged communities, left many residents displaced. In an emotional account, Aboagye described how the raging waters swept away everything he owned, leaving him with nothing. His story highlights the severe personal impact of the disaster on individuals and families across the capital.

According to the Minister of Interior, 34 lives have been lost to the torrential rain that swept away properties and dsiplaced over 70,000 households.

The recent heavy rains caused widespread flooding in low-lying areas, destroying homes, businesses, and personal property. Aboagye’s public testimony has drawn sympathy and raised awareness about the plight of flood victims.

The disaster, which increased the death toll to 12, prompted President Mahama to release GH¢300 million for urgent relief and mitigation. Many affected residents, like Aboagye, are now relying on government and public support for recovery. Aboagye’s experience underscores the urgent need for better flood prevention measures, including improved drainage systems and urban planning in vulnerable communities.
