Bibiani MCE, driver dies in road crash

It has been reported that the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Alfred Amoah and his driver have died in a ghastly accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway.

According to sources, the accident which occured on Tuesday July 12, 2022, involved multiple vehicles.

It occured when a trailer truck with registration number AS 4229-X lost control few meters from the Birim river after it’s axle broke in the middle of the road and crashed into the MCE’s vehicle with registration number GC 2060-18.

The source added that the truck crashed the engine of the MCE’s car and the driver’s part along with the seating area of the front passenger killing them instantly.

The trailer was said to have been traveling from Kumasi towards Accra while the MCE and his driver were moving from Accra to Kumasi.

The MCE’s vehicle was said to have damaged beyond recognition; trapping the occupants within.

Their bodies were still trapped in the car at the time of filing this report however the Police reported to the scene to ensure calm and order.

Meanwhile, according to state-owned Daily Graphic, the Western North Regional Minister, Richard Rocky Joojo Obeng confirmed the incident to them.

“He was with me this afternoon. He just left my company around 4:00pm. Yes, he was with me in Accra”, the Minister told the Daily Graphic.
