There is no ebola case recorded in Ghana – GHS clears waves

It was alleged in the early hours of today that, Ghana has recorded an ebola case in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana causing a lot of fear and panic.

But, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye has cleared the waves by saying that Ghana has not recorded any ebola case in the country.

According to him in a press briefing at the Ministry of Information in Accra on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, GHS carried out simulation exercise on how to handle an outbreak of the Ebola Disease and was also testing their systems on  how to deal with the situation should there be any case recorded.

Speaking about the Monkeypox and COVID-19 outbreak, Dr. Kuma said Ghana has recorded 18 positive cases and 72 suspected cases of Monkeypox with no death.

He added that, 13 schools in total have however recorded COVID-19 with 2 schools currently closed down temporarily due to the Covid outbreak.
