The sequel of Hollywood movie Girls Trip set to be shot in Ghana with original cast.
The director of the movie, Tracy Oliver at the Sundance Film Festival revealed that there was going to be an update on movie Girls Trip.
She added a plot update explaining how producer Will Packer might kill her, “we’re looking to set in Ghana.”
The production timeline is however not set as Tracy Oliver is yet to submit her script.
The 2017 comedy film featured Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish and Jada Pinkett-Smith along with other notable Hollywood actors.
The movie was made with a moderate $16 million budget however grossed $140 million worldwide.
The movie focuses on the lives of four best friends known as Flossy Posse who had grown apart over the years.
Dubbed “the next Oprah” lifestyle guru Ryan Pierce (Regina Hall) decides to invite her friends (the Flossy Posse) on a girl’s trip to the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.
Sasha (Queen Latifah) an internet gossip reporter receives a photo of Stewart (Mike Colter) kissing another woman shortly after arriving and is reluctant to tell Ryan about it.
Dina (Tiffany Haddish) confronts Stewart with a knife and has the Flossy Posse thrown out of the hotel and settling for a one-star motel.
They meet Julian Stevens (Larenz Tate) a musician and an old friend who gives up his room to the girls so they would have a decent place to stay.
Another Hollywood movie, which was shot in Ghana, was The Beast of No Nation which featured Idris Elba a Ghanaian-Sierra Leonean and British actor and Abraham Atta who has gone on to feature in other Hollywood movies like the Spider-man: Homecoming and the Spider-Man No Way Home.
