Kaka Congratulates Messi for making “Triple Crown” elite list

Former Brazilian and AC Milan football star Kaka, has taken on to his social media handle to congratulate World Cup winner Messi, for making the “triple crown” elite list.

The footballer became a part of the 9-man “triple crown” elite list after his World Cup victory.

The triple crown elite list are made up of footballers who have won the World Cup, Champions League and have been awarded the Ballon D’or.

On the list are England’s Bobby Charlton who was the first to make the list after winning the UEFA Champions League in 1968. he had already won the world in 1966, winning the “Golden Ball” Ballon d’or the same year.

Franz Beckenbauer from Germany with a Golden Ball in 1972, was enlisted in 1974 after the winning World Cup and Champions League. He was awarded the Golden ball in 1974 and went on to win it the Champions League in 1975 and 1976.

German Gerd Muller is also on the list with 2 golden balls, three champions leagues and a World Cup trophy. Gerd Muller won with Franz Beckenbauer in 1974. Won the Champions League in 1974, 1975 and 1976. However he was awarded with the golden ball in 1970.

Paolo Rossi an Italian, made the list after his 1985 Champions League victory. Paolo had earlier won the World Cup in 1982, he was awarded the Golden Ball the same year.

Zinedine Zidane made the list after his 2002 Champions League victory. The French man in 1998 won the world and was awarded the golden boot same year.

Brazilian Rivaldo was awarded with the Ballon d’or first in 1999 before going on to win the World Cup in 2002 and Champions League in 2003.

Ronaldinho from Brazil, won the World Cup in 2002, Ballon d’or in 2005 and the Champions League in 2006.

Kaka also Brazilian won the World Cup in 2002 and won the Champions League and Ballon d’Or in 2007.

Messi is the newest addition to the list in 15 years.

The Argentine has four Champions League titles from 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015. He also has 7 ballon d’Ors from 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2021.

His recent World Cup in 2022 saw him make the list.

He is the player with the most UEFA Champions League titles and Ballon d’Ors amongst them.
