PSG Signs Zabarnyi in €66 Million Deal

Paris Saint-Germain have officially signed Ukrainian centre-back Illia Zabarnyi from Bournemouth in a deal worth €66 million, including bonuses.

The 22-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract until 2030, becomes the first Ukrainian player in PSG’s history and will wear the number 6 shirt. Zabarnyi, a key part of Bournemouth’s defense last season, was instrumental in their ninth-place Premier League finish and was voted the club’s Player of the Season in 2023-24.

The transfer marks Bournemouth’s third major defensive sale this summer, following Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez to Liverpool. Zabarnyi is expected to compete with Willian Pacho and Marquinhos for a starting spot in PSG’s backline and is available for their UEFA Super Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
