Afia Schwarzenegger Apologises to Court

Ghanaian socialite, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa alias Queen Afia Schwarzenegger apologises to the court for her conduct on the United Showbiz programme on UTV.

The media personality took to her Instagram page to issue an apology in a press release.

She was sentenced to 10 days in prison for contempt of court, and was not present when the judgement was pronounced.

Her legal team after triggering processes produced her in court yesterday December 20, 2022.

This comes after the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi, sued Afia Schwarzenegger and three others for contempt of court following comments made on a case pending in court.

The three others namely Kwame Asare Obeng aka Kwame A-Plus, Felicity Ama-Agyeman alias Nana Ama Mcbrown and Emmanuel Barnes alias Mr. Logic were fined GH₵60,000 each (5,000 penalty units), which they have already paid.

As Afia Schwarzenegger was absent when the court sentenced to 10 days in prison, the lawyer of the complainant Lawyer Maurice Ampaw requested the court uphold the custodial sentence passed on December 1, 2022 when Afia Schwarzenegger’s lawyer, Adrian Duke Amaning sought the court to accept the contemnor’s written apology.

The contemnor however took on to her social media to publish her apology.
