Asante Kotoko are closing in on their 25th title after defeating Medeama in Tarkwa for the first time in eight years.
The Porcupine Warriors secured three points by scoring two goals through Andrew Kwadwo Appau and Mbella Etouga.
Kotoko however set up with ten men in the second half to defend their two goals, and they ended up succeeding.
The victory therefore puts Kotoko nine points clear at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, if Hearts of Oak, the reigning champions and bitter rivals, lose to Karela United on Monday, they will be crowned champions.
