Television personality, popularly known as Efia Odo has reacted to calls from Ghanaians to the police asking for her immediate arrest.
According to her in a tweet on April 26, 2022, Ghanaians should rather focus on thiefs and arrest illegal miners in the country rather than they focusing on the two pimples on her chest. She therefore addressed Ghanaians as jokers.
“You won’t go and arrest people who do illegal mining, the two pimples on my chest is what you’re worried about? Set your priorities straight and get off my chest! Jokers!”, she tweeted on her twitter page.
On Thursday, April 21, 2022, Efia Odo appeared at the lunch of Kwesi Arthur’s new album release, ‘Son of Jacob’ with a black see-through apparel showing the nipples of her breast which caused a lot of controversies in the country and on social media.
This however triggered Lawyer Maurice Ampaw to also speak bitterly about her indecent dressing whiles in an interview with GhanaWeb. According to him, the police must not sleep on this but rather arrest her immediately.
“As at now, our children are being exposed to pornographic material and so, I am calling for the immediate arrest. I am calling on the Director of the Cybercrime Unit and then the IGP to immediately cause her arrest so we stop this kind of impunity. We need to guard our public morals“, he said.
“Efia Odo’s pictures and videos constitute a great crime against public morality and decency. We have a law in the country that guards against our morals, the law is such that don’t promote obscene or pornographic material… we can equate this one to Wisa’s case who was sentenced for showing his manhood. There is no difference between the two and currently, the picture is trending, making it very serious…it is a crime because she posted it on the cyber“, he added.
Meanwhile, Kwesi Arthur speaking for the first time on the issue on Monday, April 25 on Okay FM, he said Efia Odo is a confident woman and she is not afraid of showing herself or being herself.
“I can’t be embarrassed by that because I invited her to my album lunch and she honoured the invitation and showed up. In terms of what she wore, I think she is a confident woman and she is not afraid of showing herself or being herself”, Kwesi Arthur said.
“I admire her for that but people showed up and we did what we were supposed to do on that night and I am grateful for that”, he added.
