“I am in good health and hope they take me to trial” – Barker-Vormawor

#FixTheCountry convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has said that he is in good health and therefore ready to stand trial.

His comments comes after a judge presided over by the Tema High Court, Justice Daniel Mensah, adjourned a case involving him to reappear before court on Wednesday, March 16 to deliver a ruling. He however told Tema High Court that he is rather much concerned about whether the state will follow through with the case against him or not.

According to Justice Daniel Mensah, he asked how Mr Barker-Vormawor was doing which he responded; “I am in good health. I am prepared to stand trial. I do hope they take me to trial”.

He has therefore assured the court through his lawyers that he will show up to stand trial when the need be despite the level of charges being levelled against him.

Meanwhile, his lead Counsel, Akoto Ampaw has told the court that the case against his client is preposterous and therefore not supported by any evidence. He however insisted the constitution guarantees his client liberty and a right to be presumed innocent.
