Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale, has sent a message to Rex Omar, Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GAMRO), in response to his message urging his management team to redeem some money as royalties.
According to Rex Omar in an interview on GTV Breakfast morning show, he disclosed that Shatta Wale’s money with GHAMRO is over 30,000 cedis and must therefore provide his account details before it can be released to him.
“Shatta Wale’s money with GHAMRO is over 30,000 cedis, we’re only waiting for his management to bring us an account details so that the money will be paid into account”, Omar disclosed.
But in a response in a Facebook post on February 23, 2022, Shatta Wale said: “Please Ghamro, I don’t have management ooo, I am my own management. Please, don’t let anybody come take my money in the name of Shatta Wale. I will use it to pay my TAX because the way GRA is on my neck like thief, I haven’t seen some before!!!”
“There is no money in our industry and the little we make too the system takes it. Thank you GHAMRO for this transparency!!”, he added.
