Social media has not been quiet over yesterday’s strike action by the coalition of driver unions in the country.

The driver unions laid down their tools on Monday in protect against the rising fuel prices.

Beyond the high economic toll that same has had on them, the drivers were concerned about the fact that authorities have not allowed them to adjust their fares.

The strike action brought untoward hardship on commuters, most of who had to walk for hours to their destinations.

Some other passengers option for refuge-conveying tricycles, which is popularly known as Aboboyaa.

Taxes and ride hailing drivers, who were not striking, used the opportunity to cash in on the situation.

Surge in demand led to hikes in prices of these online ride hailing services.

Responding to yesterday’s event, social media has introduced a new lexicon in English, E-Walking.

Using #E-walking social media shared the harrowing ordeal of commuters who were left stranded, amidst the strike action.
