Chieftaincy Minister resigns

The Member of Parliament for the Ahanta West constituency, Ebenezer Kojo Kum has resigned from his position as the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

This was announced in a statement from the Presidency on Friday, February 3, 2023.

However, the statement failed to detail the reason for the minister’s resignation.

President Akufo-Addo thus accepted his resignation.

Meanwhile the Minister for Local government, Decentralization and Rural Development will act as caretaker of the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious affairs.

“The president has asked the Minister for Local government, Decentralization and Rural Development to act as caretaker of the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious affairs until a substantive replacement is made” the statement read

This brings the total number of ministers who have resigned from the Akufo-Addo administration to three in less than two months.
