Kennedy Agyapong has opened up on his first encounter at the annual Afrochella festival, expressing his discomfort on the little time he spent there.
Kennedy Agyapong was introduced by dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, who considered him as his godfather and had to hold on with his performance to be able to introduce him.
However, he had to leave early after the introduction because he was not comfortable with what some of the crowd were engaging themselves in.
In an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on the Good Evening Ghana Programme, aired on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, he said “Afrochella was organized by my son, my nephew and their parents and ever since they did that, I have never attended…. so this time, they said I should come.
“In fact, when I went there, these young men and women, smoking and drinking, I wasn’t comfortable, I really wanted to leave”.
He also said that he was persuaded to wait a bit longer for his introduction to the crowd by Shatta Wale. “Shatta Wale said I am his godfather and he wanted to introduce me, so I said ‘for what?’, he said.
He also expressed his thoughts on how trivial the programme is in terms of tourism and how he is going to give much importance to it when he fulfills his dream of becoming the a president.
