Ronaldo Blamed for Al-Nassr’s Saudi Super Cup Semi-final Exit

Rudi Garcia believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s mistake in the first half was pivotal in Al-Saudi Ittihad’s Super Cup defeat.

Ronaldo had a difficult night as Al-Nassr were eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup after a 3-1 loss to Al-Ittihad. The Portuguese striker got through on goal in the first half but failed to convert after Romarinho put Al-Ittihad ahead after 15 minutes.

Garcia believes that if Ronaldo had not fluffed his lines at that vital moment, the outcome could have been different.

“One of the factors that changed the direction of the game was Cristiano Ronaldo’s squandered opportunity in the first half,” the French manager said after the game.

Al-Ittihad took advantage of the break and extended their lead before the break, with Abderrazak Hamdallah scoring. Anderson Talisca did bring one back in the 67th minute to spark hopes of a comeback, but Muhannad Shanqeeti’s score deep into injury time sealed the Tigers’ fate
