A fire outbreak at the Kumasi police barracks has claimed the lives of an anti-robbery unit personnel of the Ashanti Regional Police Command and his family.
The police officer, his wife and daughter died in the fire at the Kumasi police barracks where they lived.
The bodies of the family have been deposited at the morgue.
Ernest Kwarteng, an assemblyman representing the Apromase/Asawase electoral district, told Citi News that they are waiting for the experts to explain what started the fire.
“According to eyewitnesses, the fire swept through one of the rooms and as we speak, a married man, the wife and daughter are no more.
“They have been burnt and the bodies deposited at the morgue. The police came in but we are waiting for the experts to come in to tell us exactly what happened,” he said.
