A one-year-old toddler girl has died in a fire outbreak at Mataheko on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
A two wooden structure near Mars Business School Mataheko got burnt in Accra taking the life of the toddler in the cause.
The burnt body of the toddler was taken to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation whiles investigation proceeds.
The baby was said to have been sleeping when the incident happened, but other occupants managed to get out safely.
During the incident, Fire personnels from the Regional Headquarters Sub-Station and Kwame Nkrumah Circle Fire Station were sent to the scene to assist with bringing the situation under control.
Also, for safety reasons, the Electricity Company Of Ghana had to be called to turn off power connecting to the area.
“Tragically, a one-year old baby girl was lost to the inferno,” officials of Fire Service said.
“The charred body was handed over to the Police who thereafter deposited the remains at the Korle-Bu morgue for preservation and further investigation,” they added.
