NPP Communications Director threatens Journalist

The National Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has threatened to take against a TV3 journalist, Roland Walker for an alleged unprofessional misconduct.

According to Ahiagba, the presenter appears to be championing the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in his work, which the NPP is aware of and will be taking action soon.

The communications director took to Twitter to express his reservations on Wednesday, 11 January 2023.

“TV3 Newday….there is something very unprofessional going on with Roland. He appears to make the platform an NDC platform. We are observing this degeneration closely and will act soon”, he tweeted.

The NPP Communications Director, however, failed to state specifically the cause of action.

Roland Walker, in response to the NPP spokesperson, described his statement as “daft”. Mr. Ahiagbah’s remarks, he claims, are the most ridiculous he has heard from an NPP Communications Director.

What appeared to be banter between the two has elicited mixed reactions from Twitter users.

While some have backed Mr. Ahiagbah’s tweet, others have criticized him for always crying foul and insisting on having his way in his engagement with journalists.
