My desire for party interest prevented me from being selfish – John Boadu

Former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has claimed that he is to be blamed for losing to his opponent during the party’s national delegate conference.

Speaking for the first time after his defeat, he admitted in an interview on The Probe on Joy Tv that his concern for the party’s interests kept him from being selfish and saying things against his opponent that could have won him the election.

“I would say that it is because of the larger interest of the party that is why I also did not say certain things that would have explained to people why we got where we were and where we are coming from,” he said.

When asked whether his opponent was unfair to him, he said: I will not blame him, he also strategised just also listening to what people are saying and just promised them that.”

His opponent Justin Frimpong Kodua polled 2,857 votes out of a total of the 5,556 votes casts beating Mr. John Boadu who obtained 2,524 in July, 2022.
