It has been confirmed that 37 million people in China have reportedly contracted Covid -19 in just a single day.

The National Health Commission in a meeting revealed that, as many as 248 million people, which is almost 18% of the population of China came down with the the virus in the first 20 days of December. With a surge that began In Beijing now spreads to other rural regions, Bloomberg news reported.
37 million may have been infected on December 20, 2022 alone, the most reported in a single day. It’s still unclear how the Chinese health ministry came out with such figures because the government stopped disclosing information about the figures of their covid patients .

“There will certainly be more omicron sub variants developing in China in the coming days, weeks and months, but what the world must anticipate in order to recognize it early and take rapid action is a completely new variant of concern,” says Daniel Lucey, a professor of the university of Geisel school of medicine.
