Regulate price in sales of goods – Dr. Spio-Garbrah

Dr. Spio-Garbrah, former Minister of Trade and Industry has asked the government to pay heed to the market and also ask for reduction in the price of goods and services following the reduction of petrol recently and the cedi appreciation against the dollar.

In a discussion on Citi Tv, he said: “There are things about our country that do not make prices of goods stable and give people a free for all environment. Anybody can sell anything to you at any price. It doesn’t happen in many countries. Those are regulated environments, some of which we must introduce to curb astronomical increases in prices which we don’t seem to have control over.”

In view of this, most traders have spiked the prices in their goods, making it difficult for the citizens in the country to appreciate the changes been made in the country, like the cedis appreciation against the dollar.
