New banknotes with King Charles’ Images Unveiled

New notes with the King Charles III’s images unveiled and expected to go into circulation mid 2024 according to the Bank of England (BoE).

The new notes 5, 10, 20 and 50 pounds notes will be printed to replace worn out notes or meet any increase in demand and will be circulating with notes bearing the late queen’s image.

This marks another time in history for many Britons as the late Queen has been all they know.

BoE governor, Andrew Bailey in his statement said “This is a significant moment as the King is the only second monarch to feature on our banknotes.”

The Queen first appeared on the notes in 1960, monarch images though have always featured on their coins.

Britain’s Royal Mint begun putting the first coins with the King’s portrait in general circulation on December 8 2022.

Added to that, the King would give his first Christmas address.
