An accident involving a 12-wheeler man diesel truck has caused the life of a driver’s assistant at Asitey in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The accident occured in the evening of Monday, July 18, 2022, when the truck, which was returning from the Odugblase mines with limestone and was heading towards Tema failed its brakes and rolled down the Asitey mountains and landed on its side killing the driver’s assistant instantly.
The deceased was identified as Kofi Emmanuel Dompreh.
According to report, the deceased (Kofi Emmanuel) was trapped under the truck, after the accident, affecting his upper part and killing him on the spot.
The Police and Fire Service personnel have therefore moved to the scene to put the situation into order while the driver, Mohammed Awudu, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the St Martin’s de Porres Hospital at Agomanya.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Atua Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
