The Police at Mamponteng in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti region has vowed to beef up night patrol to avert further disturbance in the area.
This follows a clash between youth rival groups in the Bronum and Abensenase electoral areas on Monday, December 27, 2021.
This has reportedly left two persons with serious injuries.
Youth from the Asante and Zongo groups clashed, after one person was attacked over his refusal to give out his phone.
But for an intervention by the Police in the area, the situation would have escalated.
Reacting to the development, Ampedu-Kyire Baffour, the assembly member for Abensenase advised the youth in the areas to shun such violent crimes and activities.
His counterpart in Bronum Electoral Area, Yaminu Suleman also called for calm.
