Latest COVID-19 reports in Ghana pegs the number of active cases, as at December 24, 2021, to 8,554, with some 1,283 persons reportedly fallen to the virus.
On the average, Ghana is said to be recording over 1,000 daily Covid-19 cases.
The Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service have declared that Ghana has entered the 4th wave of the virus.
Efforts at containing the virus is being undermined by not just the Christmas festivities but most notoriously the highly transmittable Omicron variant.
The unavailability of COVID-19 vaccines and vaccine hesitancy have also not helped efforts at assuage the savagery of the pandemic.
The Ghana Health Services continue to urge Ghananains to adhere to the safety protocols to safeguard against the contraction and spreading of the highly contagious Omicron variant.
