The Majority Leader of Parliament has repudiated claims that the Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo-led government has failed to build consensus with the Minority.
He stated that such claims could not be supported by the available facts.
According to him, on four different occasions, the President has invited the leadership of Parliament, including the Right. Hon. Speaker Bagbin, to the Presidency for purposes of consensus building.
He mentioned that there was not a single instance where, as a Minority leader of parliament, he was consulted by the Majority on issues.
Issues of consensus building in Ghana’s parliament has come up strongly, given the hung nature of eighth parliament.
Several individuals have had cause to attribute the rancorous nature of the Eighth Parliament to lack of consensus building.
