A former National Democratic Congress secretary for the Akwatia constituency, Isaac Kofi Anyimah has expressed disquiet with the growing culture of insults and personality attacks in the National Democratic Congress.
He cited instances of vilification and unpleasant attacks on Dr. Kwabena Duffour, who is said to be bracing up to contest for the party’s flagbearership position.
The former cadre maintains that such acts of personality attacks does not make the party attractive to many people.
‘‘Those insults only serve to create bad name for former President John Mahama. I am not sure he approves and endorse those acts of disrespect against the elderly,’’ he stated.
He also took exception with attacks on the party’s executives by some supporters of the President John Dramani Mahama.
He contends that these actions will prevent well-meaning members from putting themselves out to serve the party.
‘‘We risk losing the 2024 elections if nothing is done to bring some of these acts to book,’’ he warned.
He therefore called on all party members to desist from insult elders and executives of the party.
