Kissi Agyebeng decries inadequate resources

Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng has described as woefully inadequate resources allocated to his office to prosecute corruption cases in the country.

The event was held at Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra

Mr Agyebeng stated that the Office of the Special Prosecutor had not been operationalized, as it was  without its own staff and necessary resources

He made this lamentation during a press briefing to mark International Anti-Corruption Day, in Accra yesterday.

The former University don hinted that the Special Prosecutor was currently investigating 31 corruption and corruption-related cases.

‘‘The Special Prosecutor (OSP) has completed a review of all the alleged cases of corruption and corruption-related offences before it,’’ he disclosed.

He promised to partner with Ghana Integrity Initiative and other anti-corruption agencies to conduct corruption risk assessments on major government contracts and procurement.

He called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to renew their mindsets and collectively help to collectively reverse the negative narrative of corruption.

He said that collective effort will help  to transform the country and place it on a solid developmental trajectory.
