Justice for Ghana abandons Picketing

A group calling itself, Justice for Ghana, has abandoned its planned picketing at Parliament, today.

The Police had secured a High Court order injuncting the group from the planned picketing at Parliament.

Convenor of the group, Bernard Monarh in responding to news of the injunction described the Police’s actions as unlawful.

In their march to the Parliament house, members of the Justice could be seen wielding placards with various inscriptions.

Additionally, they were captured with mats and pillows.

But speaking on Ekosiisen Show on Asempa FM,Desmond Twumasi Ntow, one of the leaders of the group, mentioned that the group had abandoned their planned picketing in Parliament.

He stated that as a law-abiding group, they could not proceed further, once an injunction order had been served on them police.

‘‘We presented our petition to the leadership of both the Majority and Minority,’’ he said.

Their concerns are that the E-levies should be scrapped. They are also demanding that the myriads of taxes on fuel should be scrapped to ease the burden on consumers.
