A social commentator, Allotey Jacobs has described as laughable the entrenched stands of the opposition, National Democratic Congress on the 2022 budget.
To him, the Minority in parliament is being manipulated by some unseen hands.
The former Central Regional Chair of the NDC also expressed misgiving with the conduct of some Minority Members of parliament.
‘‘What is happening among the Minority reflects what is happening in their party. How can some members of the Minority openly oppose the Minority leader and insist they want a complete scrap the E-levies?, he queried.
He also tackled experts and the intellectual community for their loud silence on the stalemate in the approval in the budget.
‘‘The budget is our destiny. We need to get it running. Once you are in parliament, you should think about Ghana first’’, he urged.
It was his contention that those opposing the budget are doing so on their own volition, as they have not engaged their constituents to get their views on the opposition.
He however asked government to assume the responsibility of going down to engage all other stakeholders to obtain their approval and buy-in.
