Some drivers have expressed disappointment with the decision of the leadership of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union, GPRTU, and its aligned partners to call off the strike.
Hours into the decision of the drivers of the coalition of drivers to strike, the leadership of GPRTU asked their members to resume operations.
This followed their invitation and engagements at the Presidency.
But Speaking on Peace FM, some drivers took turns to express their disappointment in their leadership.
Some warned of dire consequences if no conclusive decision is made on their request for some taxes to be scrapped from Petroleum products.
‘’The decision is hasty and unplanned. I think the leaders have been bribed to quickly make that u-turn,’’ one driver alleged.
‘’Fuel of prices have gone up 11 times after the 2020 elections. How are we to cope?’’, another queried.
However, speaking to Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen Show, Head of Communications for Coalition of the Driver Unions, Muhammed Abass, expressed satisfaction with some reduction in the prices of fuel.
He stated that the coalition is still in talk with authorities to get their request to have some taxes scrapped from petroleum products.
