Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Kwabena Duffour, has deploy the high youth unemployment rate in Ghana.
He noted that many young people lacked the requisite employable skills.
He blamed the situation on the seemingly neglect of Vocational and Technical training, among the youth in the country.
Speaking at the Ghanaian Dream Lecture in Accra, the Founder of expressed disquiet with the high unemployment rate among many Ghanaian youths.
‘’Unfortunately, Technical and Vocational Training has not earned the same level of attention, as University education. This has created the situation of many young people with unemployable skills’’, he lamented.
He advised that to improve the employable skills of the youth, governments must allocate the requisite resources and support for Technical and Vocational training.
