Drivers, especially commercial, have been urged to exercise the highest level of discretion and caution as they carry passengers to their various destinations, this impending Christmas.
On the Me man nti Show on Neat FM, monitored by Oyenews, several listeners called into the program to express their various misgiving with conducts of some of commercial drivers.
Whilst some blamed the driver’s for their lack of discipline in adhering to the codes of defensive driving, others laid the blame squarely at the doorsteps of car owners.
‘’Who will be available for you to pick as a passenger, if you kill of us? It is about time drivers are severely punished for their recklessness,’’ one of the callers charged.
An Executive member of a driver’s unions also reiterated the union’s commitment to ensuring that drivers do not drive recklessly, especially as we head into the festive season.
He mentioned that drivers who repeatedly flout road traffic regulatory rules will be penalized by their unions, with some standing the chance of losing their license.
He cautioned drivers to be circumspect and respectful of their passengers, urging them to keep their cars in proper shape this yuletide season.
