Despise not small beginnings -Ken Ofori-Atta.

The Minister for Finance, Mr.  Ken Ofori Atta has urged the youth not to despise small begins.

He was speaking at Springboard Ghana Cares Youth Dialogue at UPSA in Accra, on Friday, October 15  2021.

Using his own personal humbling experiences, he remarked that as a young boy growing from Kyebi, he was not spared his own share of challenges that every ordinary Ghanaian faces.

‘‘I was born of wedlock, which meant that I could have potentially been aborted. I walked miles to school in Kyebi. It has not all been rosy,’’ he recalled.

He remarked that today the investment banking firm, he started in a single room in Kantamanto was managing $ 1 billion equivalent of asset.

‘‘This should encourage every young person that small beginnings are important,’’ he stressed.

He urged the youth not to bury their talents but rather take advantage of some of governments’ pro-entrepreneurial programs to create jobs for themselves and others.

Mr. Ofori-Atta further reaffirmed governments’ commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs to scale through interventions like the Ghana Cares Obaatampa project and venture capitalist supports.
