The Ministry of Health (MOH) has said contrary to popular opinion, the $19 price per Sputnik V vaccine dose, was a bargain.
In a press statement dated June 9, 2021, addressing reports that it overpaid for the vaccine, the ministry said it had negotiated the price down from $25.
Ghana purchased Russian Sputnik V vaccines at $9 more ($19) than the market price of $10.
Sheik Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum, blood relatives of UAE royalty, and broker of the controversial Ameri gas turbine deal, was involved.
As was Per Morten Hansen, a Norwegian businessman wanted by Norwegian authorities for money laundering.
Famous former Hollywood actor, Steven Seagal, was also mentioned to have played a part in the deal.
Norwegian newspaper, Verdens Gang (VG), in it’s expose “Sputnik For Sale”, published by Oye NewsGH, brought to light the ‘rip-off’.
