The Ghana Health Service has indicated earlier this year that they had produced and distributed 10.5m nosemasks, 9.9m hand sanitizers, and other PPEs to GES ahead of the reopening of schools.
3 weeks after, a survey conducted by Institute For Educational Studies(IFEST)shows that, out of about 2030 public school teachers..
sampled,75% have not received any PPE supplies. Many also said they were not aware of which health facilities their schools have been mapped to, and have not received a visit from the GES health inspectorate, or the GHS.
The director of the institute, Mr Peter Anti said the situation is likely to put both students and teachers at risk. While he encouraged parents and teachers to ensure their personal protection, he also chastised the parties in charge for the delay.
