Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been stripped off his position as captain of Arsenal Football Club.
This was contained in the Club’s statement , which has variously been shared across social media and other website portals.
The Club attributes the decision to the player’s latest disciplinary breach, last week.
It further announced that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham United.
‘‘We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed,’’ the statement reads in part.
The decision has since drawn varying comments from supporters of the Club.
Many have called into question the managerial skills of Arsenal’s Manager, Arteta.
Amidst the long running melee between the player and the club, Piers Morgan has thrown massive support the way of the embattled captain. He took to his Tweeter page to write:
‘‘Disgusted to see so many supposed Arsenal fans chucking our captain, @Auba under the bus like the manager did. He’s been brilliant sine he joined us, and deserves better treatment than this when he is temporarily out of top form.I stand firmly with Pierre-Emerick,’’ he tweeted.
Arsenal is currently on the 12th position of the Premier league’s log.
